History of the Great Ford Mustang

Regarding the consumer, the history of the great Ford Mustang began when it was shown to the public in New York's World Exhibition. The prototype has been in existence since 1962, with the Mustang 1 (T-5) was first introduced to the world of auto racing at the Grand Prix of Watkins Glen, where Stirling Moss and Dan Gurney drove for a few laps each for a demo.

In early 1960, Ford desperately needs a new car to compete with the Chevrolet Monza sports Corsair, and his first attempt, the Falcon future, failed to compete. A brand new car was needed, and the idea of the Mustang was born. It is fast and sporty and four seats. It is attractive to young people, and the prototype was well received when presented to the auto racing circuit.

It goes to the production in 1964 and was an instant success. Its launch on April 17, 1964 was the beginning of what should be the most popular car ever in American history, and has sold half a million for the first year. Its customers include all the time and it is also popular for men and women.

Several of his pieces have been learned from the failure of Falcon, and his immediate success had much to do with the publicity campaign almost perfect as it had to do with the appearance and allure. The power of the three major commercial television networks has been widely used, and with his mane and tail distinctive galloping across the red, white and blue American "Pony Car" has been the phenomenon of its era, which represents the flavor of the 1960's most perfectly what its creators could never have dreamed possible.

It was a car of its day, which came at the right time. Later called the 1964 1 / 2, the original Mustang was available as a convertible and a coupe, both with chrome wrap-around wings, the distinctive chrome grill with walking pony, and an elongated hood. Although he claims to have four seats, the rear seat was a little smaller and he also brought three tail lights on each side. It sold a million by 1966, well before the GT and Rear model was introduced.

The car continued to increase, and at the end of 60 years became more by four inches, and a lot heavier than the original, much of it in response to the development of Chevrolet and Pontiac Firebird. It was the Corvette, however, that the Mustang brought in the road race. The Mustang was so popular, especially with young people, who desperately Ford to race against the Corvette. However, the production of only two places were allowed to race, and to enable them to do so at least 100 seats were two to be produced by January 1965.

This was achieved with the help of a fan and Mustang racer, Carol Shelby, which has modified 100 of the 350 GT 2 +2 models in the models, in the process of re-equipping them to make them more suitable in the race. The suspension, wheels and brakes have been modified, and the cars were to become the basis of many future models, which are still very popular.

In early 1970, the Mustang has lost its way a bit and became a bit too large and unwieldy. The original grace and the momentum of the beginning attracted admirers has been lost, and it became
Just another car. Part of this is due to emissions regulations, but sales declined to the point that Ford has had to rethink its strategy with the Mustang design.

The Mustang II was introduced in 1974, and although it is very small and as it takes its place in the history of the car as it put an end to the decline in sales. It sold because of the fuel economy and fuel the 1973 OPEC embargo. People are afraid that a gas guzzler harm their pockets, and thus temporarily gone for the small car. However, this did not last long, and in 1975 reduced the V8 engine in the Mustang. However, even if it has a 5-liter engine, the carburetor was too small and the catalytic converter combined with that to make it lifeless.

Then came a period of relative stability but there has been some change in attitude. Fans must have seen the end coming since the late 1970's saw a slight increase in sales, rather than the decline now that the model deserves. The Cobra II and King Cobra versions did little to foster a return to the glory days for the years 1960, and Ford made a last attempt to rewrite the Mustang in 1979. The new Mustang is available as a coup "or Back with a little more interior space than either the original or the curse Mustang II.

However, the running horse has disappeared, and the tail lights have lost their distinctiveness three segments: this expanded to six, while on the side of the scallop has also disappeared. It is like a Mustang! Alterations continued to be made, and the California Highway Patrol found a job for a cut as a model for high speed pursuit of the vehicle. With its 157 hp V8 engine, this car has been used by a number of officers law enforcement until 1993, when Ford killed in the territory.

The fans were wrong, however, and the continuing development of the Mustang in line with the advent of fuel injection, air bags and other vital improvements, even if the original concept has completely disappeared. In 2005, Ford has finally buried the old platform and Fox presented today used for the Thunderbird and Lincoln. The latest Mustang returned to some of the original features, and it is a miracle that the car has survived so long.

Nobody involved, in 1962, the development team would have believed that the large Ford Mustang is still around 45 years later.
